    • October 7, 2020 Talos Energy announces its Kaleidoscope (EEI "Erato") well was drilled successfully and is in active completion operations.  Results exceeded predrill expectations and included logging approximately 325' feet (Net TVD) across four zones.  This marks the 40th successful EE/ EEI well since start-up in 2000.
    • September 10, 2020  EE donates over 500 hard-copy Gulf of Mexico Velocity Surveys to the University of Houston, Department of Earth and Atomospheric Science.

    • December 31, 2019 Englehart Energy, Inc. (EEI) reverts back to Englehart Energy, a Sole Proprietorship (EE).

    • August 21, 2013  EEI completes Porosity Study for QI Petrophysics.

    • July 18, 2013   Tarpon Operating announced that it had gained structure and found additional pay thickness in the #A-1ST development well at their West Cameron Block 661 Field.  This is the 38th well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000.

    • July 11, 2013   A Partner Company has contracted EEI to act as Technical Consultants on a Field Acquisition consisting of three blocks.  These three blocks will bring the EEI Portfolio of partner-acquired leases to 74 total since start-up in 2000.

    • July 1, 2013 Tarpon Operating was high bidder on West Cameron Block 280 at the Western Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale.  This will allow Tarpon a new lease term in which to develop their discovery at EEI's "Bally Horse" Prospect originally drilled on a prior lease.  This new lease will bring the EEI portfolio to a total of 71 partner-acquired leases since start up in 2000.    

    • January 1, 2013   EEI announces its relocation to new office space overlooking Lake Houston.  An interactive map can be found on the "Location" web page.

    • December 20, 2012   Tarpon Operating announced that it had found 175' of oil and gas pay in multiple zones at their Matagorda Island Block 726 #A-7ST development well.  Casing has been set and the well will be integrated into the "A" platform flow stream.  This is the 37th well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000.

    • June 13, 2012   EEI had two Prospects bid on by Vapor Solutions with winning bids on both blocks at the June, 2012 Louisiana State Lease Sale.  These new blocks bring the EEI portfolio to a total of 70 partner-acquired leases since start-up in 2000.

    • May 12, 2012   Tarpon Operating announced that it had found 85' of oil and gas pay in two zones at their #1 well on the EEI "Titanium" Prospect in Eugene Island Block 305.  The well has been Temporarily Abandoned after running casing.  This is the 36th well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000. (Subsequent Note: this well has since been deemed non-commercial and the Lease was dropped in 2019.)

    • March 10, 2011  EEI completes Eagle Ford structure mapping and prepatory Geo-Steering work for Penn Virginia in Gonzales County, Texas.

    • January 1, 2011  EEI modifies its logo to better reflect its Worldwide exploration capabilities and experience.

    • November 22, 2010   EEI completes contract work in the offshore Taranaki Basin of New Zealand.   This adds to other EEI International work accomplished in Iraq and offshore Cameroon.

    • October 22, 2010  MCX Exploration announced that it found non-commercial pay in the #A-7 well on its Mustang Island Block 726 Field.

    • April 21, 2010  EEI completed negotiations for a contract with its seventh joint venture seismic partner.  This new strategic partnership allows EEI access to most of the last previously inaccessible areas in the offshore Gulf of Mexico.

    • March 17, 2010  EEI had two Prospects bid on by two Partner companies but no winning bids on two offshore blocks at the 2010 Central Gulf of Mexico Federal Lease Sale.  Partner efforts to join with both winning companies are underway.

    • February 23, 2010  EEI President, Thomas Englehart and co-author, Laura Kay Ethetton, presented a talk titled Leveraging GIS Data for Efficient Oil and Natural Gas Exploration at the ESRI Petroleum Users Group Conference in Houston, TX.

    • February 11, 2010  EEI completed negotiations for a follow-on contract with one of its six joint venture seismic partners.  This strategic partnership will continue to allow EEI access to 3D seismic data in the offshore Gulf of Mexico in support of its Focus Area Strategy prospect generation efforts. 

    • November 18, 2009  Rene' Mott has joined EEI as a Geophysical Consultant.  Rene' brings a wide range of worldwide specialized processing, modeling and interpretation experience gained during her career with Seismic Micro Technology, Unocal, and Maxus.

    • October 2, 2009  Nippon Oil Exploration U.S.A. Limited announced that it has found 220’ of oil and gas pay in multiple Pliocene-age zones in its #1 well on the EEI "Winning Streak" Prospect across West Cameron Blocks 265 and 266.  The well has been Temporarily Abandoned prior to further operations. This is the 35th well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000.

    • August 19, 2009   EEI had three Prospects bid on by two Partner companies with winning bids on three offshore blocks at the 2009 Western Gulf of Mexico Federal Lease Sale.  These new blocks bring the EEI portfolio to a total of 68 partner-acquired leases since start-up in 2000. 

    • April 3, 2009   Tarpon Operating announced that it has found commercial quantities of gas pay in its #1 well on the EEI "Lounge Chair" Prospect at High Island Block A273.  The well has been Temporarily Abandoned prior to further operations.  (Subsequent Note:  As gas commodity prices fell after drilling this well, it was deemed uneconomic and the lease dropped in 2011.)

    • March 18, 2009   EEI had two Prospects bid on by two Partner companies with a winning bid on one offshore block at the 2009 Central Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale.  This new block brings the EEI portfolio to a total of 65 partner-acquired leases since start-up in 2000.

    • March 7, 2009   Tarpon Operating announced that it had found 135' of pay in multiple zones in their #1 well on the EEI "Bally Horse" Prospect at West Cameron Block 280.  The well has been Temporarily Abandoned after running casing.  This is the 34th well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000. (Subsequent Note:  As gas commodity prices fell after drilling this well, it was deemed uneconomic and the Lease was dropped in 2015.)

    • February 25, 2009  Tarpon Operating announced that it found 210' pay in multiple zones in their #1 well on the "Arpa" Prospect at West Cameron Block 487.  The well has been Temporarily Abandoned after running casing.  Production is expected to commence in mid-2010.  This is the 33rd well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000.

    • January 29, 2009  Tarpon Operating announced that it found 182' pay in multiple zones in their #1 well on EEI's "Bonito" Prospect at East Cameron Block 266.  The well has been Temporarily Abandoned after running casing.  Production is expected to commence in late 2010.  This is the 32nd well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000.

    • January 7, 2009 Via new prospect generation for clients Tarpon Operating and MCX Gulf of Mexico, EEI has acquired an interest in three new leases.  These blocks bring the EEI portfolio to a total of 64 partner-acquired leases since start-up in 2000. 

    • November 27, 2008  Tarpon Operating announced that it has flow-tested and will complete a 22' net gas "IP" sand in their #1 well on EEI's "Rocking Chair" Prospect at West Cameron Block 212.  This is the 31st well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000.

    • November 4, 2008  Lymac Exploration and Production, LLC announced the successful acquisition of West Cameron Block 266 from Samson Offshore.  This new block, plus Lymac's high bid on WC 265 in the March 2008 OCS Lease Sale, comprise the whole of EEI's "Molito" prospect.  This new block represents EEI's 61st partner-acquired lease since start-up in 2000.  

    • August 20, 2008  EEI had five Prospects bid on by three Partner companies with winning bids on three offshore blocks at the 2008 Western Gulf of Mexico Federal Lease Sale.  These new blocks bring the EEI portfolio to a total of 60 partner-acquired leases since start-up in 2000. 

    • July 3, 2008  Marlin Coastal announced that it found non-commercial pay at EEI's "Janice Ann" Prospect on Ship Shoal Block 86.

    • March 19, 2008  EEI had five Prospects bid on by five Partner companies with winning bids on three offshore blocks at the 2008 Central Gulf of Mexico Federal Lease Sale.  These new blocks bring the EEI portfolio to a total of 57 partner-acquired leases since start-up in 2000.

    • February 1, 2008 EEI completes negotiations with its sixth joint venture seismic partner.  These strategic partnerships allow EEI to access 3D seismic data in over 80% of the offshore Gulf of Mexico to support its prospect generation efforts. 

    • January 7, 2008  MCX completed 22’ net gas in the"1700" sand in the #A-4 well on Mustang Island Block 726. 

    • December 12, 2007  Dave Burgess has joined EEI as a Geophysical Consultant.  Dave brings a wide base of acquisition, processing, and interpretation experience from Chevron and Independent producers both onshore Gulf Coast and offshore Gulf of Mexico.

    • December 5, 2007  Peregrine Oil and Gas re-completed a 25' net gas "X-55" reservoir in the #A-2 ST1 of the West Cameron 630 Field.  This is the 30th well and 54th block in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000. 

    • November 28, 2007  LLOG Exploration Company announced that it found the primary target wet at its Farm-in of EEI's "Big Ugly Fat Boy" Prospect on High Island Block A300.

    • November 1, 2007  Ken Dice has joined EEI as a Geological Consultant.  Formerly with Samedan and Newfield Exploration Company, Ken brings a wide range of technical skills and Gulf of Mexico knowledge to EEI.

    • October 3, 2007  EEI had six Prospects bid on by four Partner companies with winning bids on three offshore blocks at the 2007 Central Gulf of Mexico Federal Lease Sale.  These new blocks bring the EEI portfolio to a total of 53 partner-acquired leases since start-up in 2000.

    • August 15, 2007  EEI had one Prospect bid on by a Partner company but it was not the winning bid at the 2007 Western Gulf of Mexico Federal Lease Sale.

    • August 4, 2007  Peregrine Oil and Gas announced a successful field extension well on High Island Block A268.  The well encountered approximately 50' net gas in two Pleistocene sands.   This is the 29th well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000.

    • July 7, 2007  LLOG Exploration Company announced a discovery at EEI's "Jiggs" Prospect on South Marsh Island Block 111.  The well encountered approximately 110' net gas in multiple Pleistocene sands.    This is the 28th well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000. A platform is being set and second well is planned on the block in 1Q 2008.

    • May 25, 2007  Eric Englehart, an Undergraduate in Geophysics at the University California at Berkeley, has joined EEI as a summer intern.  He will be assigned mapping duties for both regional and prospect-specific areas in the offshore Gulf of Mexico.

    • April 8, 2007  Medco Energi US LLC announced a discovery at EEI's "Udaluli" Prospect on Brazos Block 437.  The well encountered 55' net gas in multiple "Rob L" and "Rob M" sands.  Dual completion operations are underway with initial production scheduled for fourth quarter 2007.  This is the 27th well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000.

    • January 16, 2007  Challenger Minerals announced it will complete its discovery well at EEI's "Gretzky" Prospect on High Island Block A268.  Approximately 100' net gas was encountered in two zones.  Peregrine Oil and Gas is expected to take over as Operator.  This is the 26th well and 50th block in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000.

    • October 14, 2006  Newfield Exploration and partner Arena Energy announced a successful Development well on High Island Block A353.   Drilled from the recently installed High Island A353 "A" Platform, the #A-2 well encountered four pay sands totaling 110' net gas.  This is the 25th well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000.  This well further expands Newfield and Arena's 2004 discovery on EEI's "Rudabega" Prospect covering High Island Blocks A353 and A366.  Initial production is expected to commence in late 2006.

    • August 16, 2006  EEI had four Prospects bid on by seven Partner companies with winning bids on three offshore blocks at the 2006 Western Gulf of Mexico Federal Lease Sale.  These new blocks bring the EEI portfolio to a total of 49 partner-acquired leases since start-up in 2000.

    • August 8, 2006  William Catanese has joined EEI as a Geological Consultant.  Formerly with Kerr-McGee Corp. and Newfield Exploration Company, Bill brings a wide range of technical skills and Gulf of Mexico knowledge to EEI.

    • July 21, 2006  Contango Operating announced that it found non-commercial gas in the target reservoirs at its Farm-In of EEI's "Hourglass" Prospect on High Island Block A279.

    • July 6, 2006 Peregrine Oil and Gas announced that it found the two primary targets wet at its Farm-in of EEI's "Bruiser-Crusher" Prospect on East Cameron Block 263.

    • July 5, 2006  MCX announced it will complete its Mustang Island Block 726 #A-6 Development well.  Dual completion operations are underway and initial production is expected in August, 2006.  This will be the 24th well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000.

    • June 8, 2006  MCX announced it will complete its Mustang Island Block 726 #A-5 Development well.  Dual completion operations are underway and initial production is expected in August, 2006.  This will be the 23th well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest (ORRI) since start-up in 2000.

    • June 6, 2006  Irdam Coriolis has contracted EEI to perform all technical work leading to drilling activity on West Cameron Block 629.  This is the 46th partner-acquired lease since start-up in 2000.

    • May 8, 2006  MCX announced it will Temporarily Abandon its gas discovery at Mustang Island Block 726 #A-4 well.  Completion is scheduled after further drilling and development on the Mustang Island Block 726 "A" platform.  This will be the 22rd well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest since start-up in 2000. 

    • April 2, 2006  Tana Exploration announced a deeper pool discovery with its High Island Block 74 #2 well.  Completion operations are underway on an 85' net gas zone in the "Cris R" interval.  This will be the 21st well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest since start-up in 2000.  The 2004 ATP High Island Block 74 #1 continues to produce from a "Rob L" sand.

    • March 15, 2006  EEI had four Prospects bid on by Partner companies with winning bids on two offshore blocks at the 2006 Central Gulf of Mexico Federal Lease Sale.  These new blocks bring the EEI portfolio to a total of 45 partner-acquired leases since start-up in 2000.

    • January 9, 2006  David Hruzek has joined EEI as a Geophysical Consultant.  Formerly with Mark Producing, Anadarko, and Spinnaker, David brings a wide range of technical skills and Gulf of Mexico knowledge to EEI.

    • August 18, 2005  LLOG Exploration Company has Temporarily Abandoned the Matagorda Island Block 617 #1 well.  (Subsequent Note:  As gas commodity prices fell after drilling this well, it was deemed uneconomic and the lease dropped in 2008.)

    • August 17, 2005  EEI had 12 Prospects bid on by Partner companies with high bids on nine offshore blocks at the 2005 Western Gulf of Mexico Federal Lease Sale.  These new blocks bring the EEI portfolio to a total of 43 partner-acquired leases since start-up in 2000.

    • July 8, 2005  Tarpon Operating has successfully completed a 50' oil zone in the "Siph D-4" sand with the Mustang Island Block 726 #A-1.  This is the 20th well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest since start-up in 2000.

    • July 7, 2005  LLOG Exploration Company has successfully completed a 40' gas zone in the "AA 10" sand with the Garden Banks Block 205 #3 well.  This is the 19th well in which EEI has earned an Overriding Royalty Interest since start-up in 2000.

    • May 16, 2005  Marc Russell, a University of South Carolina Geology Graduate Student joins EEI as a summer intern.  Marc will perform a broad offshore operator analysis, convert all EEI prospecting files into a Geographic Information System (GIS) database, and map leads for the upcoming Federal Lease Sale.

    • April 7, 2005   EEI adds a new consultant to its ranks.  Bob Bethancourt joins as a Senior Petroleum Engineering Consultant.  He is a proven expert and will perform more detailed reservoir performance analyses and full-cost economic modeling on all EEI prospects.

    • March 16, 2005   EEI had six Prospects bid on by Partner companies with winning bids on three offshore blocks at the 2005 Central Gulf of Mexico Federal Lease Sale.  These new blocks bring the EEI portfolio to a total of 34 partner-acquired leases since start-up in 2000.

    • February 1, 2005   EEI completes  negotiations  with its  fifth joint venture seismic partner.   These strategic partnerships allow EEI to access 3D seismic  data in over 80% of the offshore Gulf of Mexico to support its Prospect Generation efforts.
